Hecate Kit
Make Maddie Harvey's Hecate Wrap from Pompom Quarterly: Issue No 26 / MOON...
With plant-dyed yarn and a radiant crescent-moon motif, this could be named after no-one but Hecate, ancient Greek moon goddess of plant magic and sorcery. Hecate is a parallelogram-shaped wrap worked in garter stitch in crisp, woolly Masgot Fine, with moon haloes added in wispy Whorl.
The kit includes:
3 x 50gm Woollenflower Masgot Fine (100% wool from French sheep breeds- Bizet, Blanche du Massif Central and Noire du Velay; 200m/ 50gm), dyed with indigo
1 x 50gm Woollenflower Whorl (72% kid mohair/ 28% silk: 420m/ 50gm), dyed with cutch
Because of the nature of dyeing with natural materials, shades may vary slightly from kit to kit.
The pattern for Hecate can be found in the Moon issue of Pompom Quarterly, released in August 2018. Print copies of this publication can be found at local yarn shops and digital copies at Pompom and Ravelry.
