Kleur Shawl Kit
Make Anna Maltz' Kleur shawl, a joyful celebration of the colour (kleur in Dutch) found in both natural dyes and natural sheep shades, all in Anna's inimitable style!
This kit includes a total of 70 (105) grams of Woollenflower Masgot Fine (fingering-weight; 100% wool; 200m/50g; sourced and processed in France): that's 10 (15)gm in 7 different shades, dyed with natural materials.
This is enough yarn to make the colour wheel in the small (large) version of Anna’s Kleur shawl design; you’ll need to combine it with 2 other shades of yarn to make the entire shawl. Suggested yarns are the natural sheep shades of Garthenor Ronas (shown in the sample), more Masgot Fine or other fingering-weight from your stash… You can find details on quantities required for these and buy the Kleur pattern from the designer, Anna Maltz, on Ravelry.
Crisp and light with a wonderful bounce, Masgot Fine is a rustic, woollen-spun fingering-weight from Polo & Co is a blend of 3 French sheep breeds- the Bizet, Blanche du Massif Central and Noire du Velay. Not commonly used in yarns, the fleeces from these breeds are generally discarded as a waste product from the meat industry, however they make a yarn perfect for colourwork, structured knits and any designs that benefit from a bit of texture.
Because of the nature of dyeing with natural materials, shades may vary slightly from kit to kit.
