Plant-dyer's yarn kit
This kit is designed to get you out collecting and dyeing with your local dye-plants! For me, the most exciting thing about working with plant dyes is finding and collecting the dyes themselves, whereas mordanting can be a slightly intimidating step in the process for the novice dyer. For this reason, I've put together a dye kit with all you need except dyes so that you get to do the fun bits yourself.
The kit includes:
- A comprehensive, 9-page guide covering all the essential steps and recipes you'll need to follow to begin dyeing with natural materials
- Detailed notes on over 40 common dye plants that you may find in your local landscape
- 100g (225m) organic, non-superwash merino DK yarn, mordanted with alum
- 10gm (22m) organic, non-superwash merino DK yarn, mordanted with copper
- 10gm (22m) organic, non-superwash merino DK yarn, mordanted with iron
