Aika Jumper Kit
Make the beautiful Aika, a long-sleeved lace jumper with a spiral rib and a relaxed but lovely fit. Worked at a loose gauge, it's extremely quick to knit but results in a versatile and easy-to-wear garment. Megumi Shinagawa designed Aika for Laine Magazine Issue 22 but it's now available as a solo pattern!
This kit includes:
2 x Woollenflower Earth (100% Zwartbles/ Exmoor Blueface wool; 400m / 437 yds per 100g)
2 x Woollenflower Whorl (68% kid mohair/ 32% silk: 420m/ 50gm)
Both yarns are held together. According to the pattern, this is enough to make sizes 1-5, however the pattern uses much less yarn than this; for example, the sample shown is the third size and used only 600m of each yarn, rather than the 722m requested, and many other people have found the same thing. I feel confident that this quantity will stretch to at least size 6, possibly 7. If you would like a kit to make sizes 7-9 or have any queries, please email me at jules@woollenflower.com- I'm very happy to dye a kit for you!
The kit does not include a copy of the pattern: You can purchase it directly from the designer, Megumi Shinagawa, on Ravelry.
Please be sure to check your gauge (after washing) since this yarn combo is bouncier than the original and you may need to use larger needles to achieve the finished dimensions.
Please note that that, due to the nature of natural dyes, kits may differ slightly in shade.
