Plant-dyed embroidery wool sets
Conceived as a way to exhaust the very last bit of colour from large dyebaths, these sets of 10 shades come in two colourways:
Winter Skies: this set was inspired by the myriad shades of light and dark seen in Scotland's winter skies and was dyed with indigo, madder, oak, rhubarb root and walnut hull.
Indigo and madder: this set was dyed with two of the world’s oldest dyes, indigo and madder, and includes a gradient of blues and red-to-salmon.
These threads are suitable for embroidery and hand stitching, as well as fine knitting, crochet and weaving (weft only). They work beautifully on linen, cotton, felt and wool. They were dyed with care, using time-honoured methods and dyes that give long-lasting colour.
Thread: Appleton’s crewel wool, 2-ply, 100% wool sourced and processed in Britain and dyed in Glasgow. Packed in a glassine bag with label and care instructions.
Meterage: 36m/ 5gm ball (10 x 5gm per set)
